The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI) has included the control component of MN Community Measurement’s Optimal Asthma Care measure in its Quality Clinical Data Registry. The registry will be used nationally by allergy, asthma and immunology clinicians to meet federal Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) requirements.
AAAAI’s inclusion of this component helps further align Minnesota quality reporting requirements with national mandates, as the Optimal Asthma Care measure is also part of Minnesota’s Statewide Quality Reporting and Measurement System. The continued alignment of state and federal reporting requirements ultimately reduces the reporting burden on Minnesota providers.
The control component of the Optimal Asthma Care measure evaluates how controlled patients’ asthma symptoms are based on responses to a validated patient reported outcome assessment.
