Tina Frontera and Gunnar Nelson from MNCM, along with two Minnesota physicians—Dr. Allan Ross from Ortonville Area Health System and Dr. Paula Santrach from Mayo Clinic—participated in a national seminar on the physicians’ role in responding to the increased health care costs. The seminar included discussion about how the new Total Cost of Care and Resource Use measures can help physicians explore the science and techniques around cost, resource use, performance and improvement.
MNCM presented on the methodology of the Total Cost measure and our experiences and trends in the three years of measuring total cost.
This is the second such seminar; in 2014, MNCM attended with Dr. David Satin from U of M Physicians and Dr. Lori Bethke from Entire Family Physicians.
