total knee replacement

In May, MNCM’s Measurement and Reporting Committee (MARC) approved several recommendations for the redesign of the Total Knee Replacement (TKR) surgery measures. The evolution of these measures offered an opportunity for benchmarking capability and stability.

The TKR measure redesign workgroup, led by Paul Johnson, MD, Medical Director of Joint Care Services at Park Nicollet, voted to support several redesign recommendations that will enhance measure use and reporting:

  • Modify the current measure construct for functional status for 2020 report year (DOS 1/1/2018 – 12/31/2018)
  • Discontinue collection of the three-month measures for 2020 report year
  • Discontinue collection of TKR revision procedures for 2020 report year
