MN Community Measurement welcomed two new members to our Board of Directors this month: Dr. Tamiko Morgan and Jim Schowalter.
Dr. Tamiko Morgan is the Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director of Metropolitan Health Plan. She is a board-certified pediatrician and fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, with additional training in health care administration, integrative medicine and health coaching. She is an active health advocate in the community and founder of the health and wellness company 2 E.D.I.F.Y., LLC, which is dedicated to bringing healing to others through education, edification, and empowerment. She also serves as Vice President of the Minnesota Association of Black Physicians, and is the author of the book, “VIP Very Important Patient: The African American Woman’s Guide to Health Care, Healing & Wellness.”
Jim Schowalter is the president and chief executive officer of the Minnesota Council of Health Plans. Prior to joining MCHP, Schowalter was commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Management and Budget. Schowalter earned his Master’s degree from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and a Bachelor’s degree from Macalester College. He had been with the Minnesota Department of Finance since 1994 and had served as commissioner since 2011.
Two additional openings on our Board of Directors are expected to be filled following the February board meeting.
