Invitation for Public Feedback — Optimal Asthma Control Measure Redesign

As part of the standard measure review cycle, MNCM’s Measurement and Reporting Committee (MARC) reviewed the Optimal Asthma Control measure in June 2024. After this review, MARC noted several issues related to the data collection burden and the measure's usefulness for health care providers. As a result, MARC recommended the establishment of a measure redesign workgroup. The workgroup completed their work at the end of March 2025 and are currently seeking public comment on their recommendations. CHIRP Facilitated Data Sharing Program Update

The CHIRP Governance Committee made significant strides in first quarter to enhance data exchange between payers and providers. A key focus has been finalizing the Payer to Provider Inbound and Outbound Data Standards and ensuring their seamless integration within the PIPE infrastructure. These efforts are essential in advancing the capabilities of CHIRP to support efficient and secure data sharing across the healthcare landscape. The MNCM team is actively working on the final steps to implement this exchange, including completing legal agreements and finalizing the technical builds necessary for deployment. These foundational elements will enable a smooth and standardized flow of critical health data, fostering improved collaboration between payers and providers.

Additionally, two valuable new resources are now available to enhance program visibility and connectivity among participating medical groups and health plans in navigating and leveraging the benefits of the CHIRP program: the CHIRP Contact Directory – A comprehensive listing that allows participants to easily connect with one another; and the CHIRP Participation Matrix – A tool that provides clear insight into where each participating organization stands regarding CHIRP and NCQA Data Aggregator Validation involvement. For more information on how to enroll in the CHIRP program or for access to the new resources, please contact us.
